A reminder of what was in time past…an abandoned home, Skellig Michael out in the sea, an akilter gate. Bittersweet in its beauty, reminders of things almost remembered. Memories that aren’t yours, but feel like they could be. Slainte, Lisa

Seeing the Ocean for the First Time
Do you remember the first time you saw the ocean? I don’t, but I do remember early sensations of getting used to hot sand on my feet, the roar of the water, the feeling of being somewhere totally different yet comforting in its encompassing world. The Outer Banks of NC has been my training ground since the age of 3, and the feeling of the sea oats, the dunes, the unpredictable surf is the best medicine to me. God has used water in my life to draw me closer to Him, to be able to calm down and listen to His voice and His only. I thank Him for it, for waves and sky and clouds and sand and sounds and salt air. Whether you’re by the sea or dreaming of it today, thank Him for the things you love. Lisa

Transparent Gold
Sunset on the sound in Duck, NC….I couldn’t help but think about this description of how heaven is, how God lets us see little glimpses of the amazing beauty that is waiting. “And the street of [New Jerusalem] was pure gold, like transparent glass…The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.” ~Revelation 21:21b, 23
Holding on to that light and that love of Jesus, Lisa
