Sweet Music

Music expresses that which can not be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.” -Victor Hugo

Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.” – unknown

I have no pleasure in any man who despises music. It is no invention of ours: it is a gift of God.” – Martin Luther

“Most people live and die with their music still unplayed. They never dare to try.”          -Mary Kay Ash

Find your song, whatever it is, and play it.  It is beautiful, and it is yours, given by God.

3 Things that Constitute a Harper

In the Celtic oral tradition, triads are popular.  These are little nuggets of wisdom grouped in three.  The triad for the day:

3 Things that constitute a harper:

a tune to make you cry,

a tune to make you laugh,

a tune to put you to sleep.

This tune by performed by the Corrs might just help you do all three.  🙂

Irish Music and Dance…It’s Universal

Most people have seen or heard about “Riverdance” and the phenomenom of Irish dancing and music shows that have sprung up since.  Evidently, it has even spread far south to the penguin population.  Here’s a bit of a laugh to start off your Monday.  Enjoy!  Lisa

Why Ireland?

Why Ireland?

Views like this everywhere…

Hikes providing time to talk…

Castles…

God’s Rock-Hewn Playgrounds…

Sheep and pastures…

History…

Green beyond belief…

Amazing music and people…

My short list of “Why Ireland.”

By no means exhaustive, but contemplative.

Enjoy your day!  Slainte, Lisa

Oddities Clattering About

The oddities in this picture of the Blarney castle gardens are what makes it interesting.  My favorite line in the movie “Far and Away” is when the dad addresses his son seriously, “You have many oddities clattering about in that head of yours.”  I always laugh a little more than is called for, because I can totally relate to that statement.  I too have many oddities, and what’s worse, I enjoy them!  🙂  I love coming up with new plans and dreams and ventures, which may or may not work out.  It makes me feel alive and awake and productive.

I love to people watch and wonder what plans and hopes and dreams each person may have.  What oddities each one has; the personality quirks which make each of us so interesting and different.  Have fun today chasing your dreams and hopes and plans.  Embrace your God-given oddities and run with them.
