“All the Christmas presents in the world are worth nothing without the presence of Christ.” ~David Jeremiah
When I’m feeling overwhelmed with the seemingly endless and often routine shopping that surrounds Christmas, this thought grounds me. If the people I love have Jesus, they have everything. The only gift that matters in this short life. He gives eternal life, which is a gift past all imaginings and expectations. The flash and the sparkle fades away into a wooden manger; peace descends. Blessings, Lisa
“The flash and the sparkle fade away into a wooden manger; peace descends.” What an amazing thought and inspiring post! Thank you for grounding us today, as we hurry and scurry around!
Thank you so much for your encouragement. I have decided that today will be a day of no scurrying for me. (Now if I can just hold to it. 😉
It’s nuts, isn’t it? The gift of presence and peace can far outlast anything material. I know this, because it’s what I seek myself, way beyond anything in any store.
Truth….I wish sometimes that we could just be there in the stable 2000 years ago, just for a second, and then we’d really understand.
