Given the choice to explore one of two castles for the day, do you pick
the restored and maintained Cahir Castle
or the Ballycarberry Castle ruin?
Both great castles in their own uniqueness. Answer in the comments below and tell me about your imaginary travel day. Have fun climbing the stony, windy staircases in your mind. 🙂 Slainte, Lisa
P.S. Yesterday’s cliff cave poll was tied….half of you would ask many questions, and half would stay in the boat. Only one brave person would jump out and go, no questions asked. 🙂 In case you were wondering, me…water….boat…no question where I’m staying!
Good question! I would love to see how they restored the first castle and made it all beautiful again, but there is an air of mystery and intrigue about climbing around in that old one and envisioning in my mind what it might have looked like years ago! So, my vote will go with the old one, I believe.
Thanks for your great answer! I will let everyone know tomorrow the outcome of the vote. 🙂
Oh definitely Ballycarberry – the romantic ruin.. but perhaps not enough to explore? Hmm…
Love your evocative photos.
Thanks so much for answering! We spent two whole days in Ballycarberry. Kind of pretended we owned it, as there was no one else there but us all day. 🙂
Ballycarberry gets my vote (Maria) because it allows everyone’s imagination to run riot with what ifs and maybe’s. I haven’t had an imaginary travel day for a while the last one was in Mudpile Wood and look where that has led me.
Hi, Maria! Thank you so much for voting and answering! Imaginary travel days can be fun, but can definitely lead to other things. 😉 Have a great day, Lisa
I’ve been to Cahir Castle! Loved it! Enjoy your posts. 🙂
Yay! Another Cahir Castle fan. Of all the restored castles in Ireland, Cahir definitely gets my vote. Absolutely beautiful, and great little town. Thanks for writing! 🙂
Cahir Castle, and hope to spend the night over as well 🙂
Ooohhh….love the idea of spending the night…. the wind whistling through those stone walls….pretending the place was yours. I think I would almost feel the need to dress in period costume to get the proper feel. 😉
The castle ruin for me – much more room for my imagination. 😀
Thank you so much for writing and casting your vote! Ballycarberry definitely has lots of room for the imagination. 🙂 Have a great day! Lisa
the second. more room for imagination. tony
I agree, Tony. 🙂 Thanks for writing, and have an awesome songwriting kind of day. Lisa
