Sometimes when I look at something that’s ahead of me, whether it’s a literal mountain hike or one of life’s other hurdles, it looks huge. Gigantuan and overwhelming. But if I can just start, just put one foot in front of the other and begin, little by little it usually gets done. And then looking back later, I realize it really was more of a hill and I shouldn’t have had the big freak out. 🙂 Here are some of our favorite hills/mountains that we have tackled. Step by step. Blessings, Lisa
“It’s not a hill, it’s a mountain, as you start out the climb…” (U2, I’ll Go Crazy, NLOTH)
“And step by step, You’ll lead me, and I will follow You all of my days.” (Rich Mullins, Step by Step, The World As Best As I Can Remember)
You are so right! We all have a tendency to make ” mountains out of molehills,” as the expression goes! When will we learn to be like the little engine who believed in himself, and instead of freaking out, he said: “I think I can! I think I can!”
I need a “fast forward” button in my brain so I can see ahead, not freak out, and then go back and do it. But wait….that would be weird to see ahead. So forget that idea! 🙂 Rambling on a Tuesday afternoon…
