One of my favorite days spent in Ireland was this day. County Kerry, forgotten pathway leading into the woods, abandoned stone house with a large and friendly tree growing inside. We felt that we were the only people who had ever discovered this place, that it was our secret house in our hidden forest. The mist only added to the mystery and magic of the day. Memories linger like mist that surrounded us. Have fun discovering the beautiful mysteries that are all around you today. Slainte, Lisa

Carefully Controlled Chaos
Multitasking is sometimes just carefully controlled chaos. This morning, I stepped back from myself for a second to see how someone else would see me, and it made me laugh. Moving fast, putting on some sort of clothing that matched, walking the dog (twice before 7:30 AM !!), making three breakfasts, packing lunchboxes, doing my morning exercises, driving children to school…..all before 8 AM. I have read articles about how women are supposed to multitask well. All I know is that “when it all comes down, it’s an awful lot to do.” (from Hats, Amy Grant, Heart in Motion)
But now that things have slowed, and I’m sitting here chilled at my computer, there is a happy sense of getting it all done. That God gave me enough “umph” this morning to go. Praying for all of you this Monday that you are getting what you need to done. And that you can relax for a moment afterwards. 🙂 Slainte, Lisa
You’re With Me
“You’re With Me”
c 2012 Lisa Lyons
I don’t know what this road is; I don’t know where it leads…
I only know I’m safe when You’re with me.
I get so turned around; so many detours call me…
But I only know the way ’cause You’re with me.
And when I feel far from You, I know You’re still there beside me
Holding my hand, leading me on and on…
My feelings change; my moods rearrange like the trees out in the wind
But I don’t fly alone ’cause You’re with me
I need to see that You’re living in me…You’re my only Constant
Remove this discontent…Breathe in me…
And when I feel far from You, I know You’re still there beside me
Holding my hand, leading me on and on…
He never leaves you or forsakes you. He promised. Blessings on your weekend, Lisa

Making and Fixing
We live in a small rural village in Virginia. Close to the mountains with farmland and foothills all around us. Yesterday our little corner of the world was bustling with activity. The three doors down artist was outside in his field with easel and paints, capturing green fields and children playing. The two doors down mechanics were changing huge tires on an even bigger tractor. The next door cabinetmaker was creating new custom furniture from old beautiful wood. And me? Well, I was teaching students how to make music the best I could…sculpting and shaping their notes into phrases that communicate something, hopefully something beautiful. Making, fixing, creating….it made me grateful for the neighbors, for their amazing work ethic, for how they find joy and fulfillment in what they do. And it made me grateful that we are all made in God’s image….creating is what He does and continues to do every day. He’s making new people, fixing old ones, and creating beautiful things everywhere you go. And that is something to smile about. :)Slainte, Lisa
Helper, Hero, Friend
Throughout the Boston tragedy, the thing that stands out the most to me is the heroes, the first responders, the men and women on the street who stepped in to help those who were hurt. People helping other people, not thinking about possible risk to themselves, but just doing what they could to be there for someone else. And it might sound corny, but that is where hope and faith and love can be seen through pain. The bad and evil cannot win, because Love trumps all. Every time. So this is just my small salute to those who helped, and will help today, and might help tomorrow. It matters. Blessings, Lisa

True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost. – Arthur Ashe
“…Encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:14-15
“The older you get the more you realize that kindness is synonymous with happiness.” – Lionel Barrymore
