Grains of Sand

Have you ever really, really looked at sand?  Picking it up in your hand, some sifts through your fingers, but many grains remain.  Different looks, shapes, sizes, colors, all working together to make up what we know to be sand.  And millions upon billions upon gazillions of grains of them on any given beach.

If you ever feel unloved and unimportant, think about this….Psalm 139 says that “How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!  How vast is the sum of them!  Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.  (v17-18)  That’s a whole lot of thoughts from God towards you and towards me.  You are loved; you do matter; you are important in this whole big world.  Blessings for your Monday, Lisa

Our Little Fixer-Upper By the Sea

Sure, it doesn’t have a roof, and you can only reach it by crossing rocks in the water at low tide, but doesn’t it have the view?  Just a few weekends’ work and we’ll have it right as rain!  wink, wink 😉

Or maybe this one…the views of the Skelligs are rather nice.  🙂  Have a dreaming kind of day!  Blessings, Lisa

Summer Over? No Way!

Today is supposedly the traditional “end of summer.”  A bummer statement if ever I heard one.  Well, here at my home, it is still blazing summer hot with bright sunshine, and we’re all still in our happy summer clothes.  And we’re probably going to stay in our summer clothes until the first frosts are upon us, loving every sunny and warm moment we can.  So…in honor of the wonders of summer, here are a few of my favorite photos.  Enjoy your day.  Slainte, Lisa

P.S.  I just realized that I said the word “summer” 5 times in this post…whoops, now I’ve used it six times!  But as I cannot think of a better synonym, there it stands.  🙂

Wave Upon the Shore

Waves come and go; they crest high and then they crash onto the shore.  Yet I never grow tired of watching them, listening to their roar drown out my worrisome thoughts.  Waves help me hear God’s voice; in fact, I believe that God’s voice sounds a lot like the waves.  “…and His voice was like the sound of rushing waters.” (Revelation 1:15b)  Pretty awesome.  Have a blessed weekend, Lisa

Being Still

DSCN1328

“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” – Mark 4:39

“In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” – Isaiah 30:15

It’s Monday, and God is still God.  Nothing has changed; He’s got you and always will.  Stillness.  Blessings, Lisa
