Playing Your Heart Out, Even If No-One’s Listening

1037

As a musician, it’s sometimes hard to perform your best when no one seems to be enjoying it.  But yet, some of my best times playing music are when it’s just me and God, the stillness of a room, the banging of the piano keys, the not worrying about the performance, just talking in the best way I can to Jesus.  To me, the best music is that way….a heartfelt conversation, a pouring out of emotion and feeling and angst and joy and whatever else makes up these human hearts that we have.  And all of that is not dependent on crowds or audiences or attention.  The One who made us is always listening, always attentive, always ready to hear what we are saying or trying to say.  Thank you God.  Blessings, Lisa

Finding Pasture

1263

“I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.  He will come in and go out, and find pasture.”    ~Jesus, John 10:9

Safety, security, forgiveness, goodness, mercy, love, light, green and white and blue and gold and beauty as far as the eye can see….that’s Jesus.  🙂  Slainte, Lisa

I Will Follow

1009

“You want to go where?!?”

“Up this mountain….come on, it’ll be grand.”

One walks, the other follows, keeping her eyes fixed on the sheep in front.  How I wish I could follow Jesus with the same kind of fixedness.  Keep my eyes on Him, follow, go, wherever He decides to lead.  Yet despite myself, He keeps me following…day by day, step by step, mountain by mountain.  And one day I’ll reach the top, with him, and it will be so worth it.  I won’t feel the pain of twisted joints from the journey, only joy that I made it with Him.  Be encouraged today, Lisa

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” ~Hebrews 12:2

“Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you.  Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm.  Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.” ~Proverbs 4:25-27

The Light

1477

“The Light”

The walls are rough, time has done what it does

But the Light is sure and steady

The window calls out through the hardness

Come to the Light

The Light warms and comforts and illuminates

Time cannot touch it.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”  ~John 8:12
