We spend a lot of our lives searching for that perfect rock, that perfect job, that perfect love. Sometimes what we’re looking for is staring us right in the face; it’s waiting just on the other side of the door.

Sometimes, when I feel all churned up inside from too much chaos, it helps me to meditate on something much more powerful and strong. Thinking of the force of the ocean’s waves, its pull back into the depths of the sea, reminds me that God is so, so much stronger than this temporary life. Life is good, life is a gift, and life returns to Jesus. He made all things, He controls all things, He is taking care of me. Nothing else comes close to this. I can rest, I can trust. The pier is fuzzy. I’m too close. My camera lens searches and focuses on the water beyond. Clarity, perspective, focus.
Life…sometimes feels fuzzy, unclear, unfocused. Maybe I need to step back a step or two, or twenty, and see it better from further back. Not disconnect, but give it more perspective from not being right on top of each situation. Trusting God more, trusting others to figure things out, trusting that God will work all out for the best end. Easy to say, hard to do. Three birds recently hired by the Outer Banks to patrol the relatively empty beaches and report on their wonderfulness. Also included in their duties are : amount of fish seen in the waters, amount of splash in the waves upon diving down, and air quality whilst flying. The powers that be are having trouble however, in getting the birds to report in…they are too happy flying and diving. 😉 Have a bit of fun in your day today, and don’t forget to personify the occasional animal!
