What holds you up, holds you together?

Stones, bolts, wood, steel do nicely for this bridge near Dunluce Castle in Northern Ireland.

Praying that you have what you need to support you this morning….a good friend, a loving spouse, a soft pet, a warm cup of tea….but most of all praying that you know that God supports and steadies you because He loves you so.

When I’m feeling overwhelmed with the seemingly endless and often routine shopping that surrounds Christmas, this thought grounds me. If the people I love have Jesus, they have everything. The only gift that matters in this short life. He gives eternal life, which is a gift past all imaginings and expectations. The flash and the sparkle fades away into a wooden manger; peace descends.
