Resurrection

DSCN1131

This beautiful flower is a Resurrection flower.  In the early spring, clumps of long foliage appears for several weeks before wilting. After several months, a single stalk shoots up almost overnight and a lily-like pink bloom opens.   They remind me every year that though we don’t see the flower for a time, it’s alive and coming back in full force and beauty.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.  Do you believe this?”  ~John 11:25-26

Hold on to this; believe it; believe in Jesus.  And you will never die.  Why?  Because He loves you, He made you, and He wants you to be with Him forever.  This is hope; this is life; this is resurrection.  Blessings, Lisa

    • You got that right. I miss my dad so much; it feels like forever until I’ll see him again. But for him, maybe it will be like a blink of an eye until we’re all back together. Definitely something to be excited about and to hope for. Thanks for writing, Peter. 🙂

  1. I’d never heard of these flowers until moving into a house that had some. I don’t remember even noticing the Springtime foliage, but the later flowers were fascinating. What a lovely analogy God has given us!

    • Cheri,

Same here. We’re always so surprised and happy when they come up in the summer. 🙂 Have a great evening, Lisa

  2. Lisa, this is the most special blog you have ever written! “I am the resurrection and the Life,” Jesus said, and God keeps His promises! You will see your beloved Dad again, and to him it will just be a blink of an eye, as you said. May God always bless you and keep you in his loving care.

    • God’s blessings and love to you too. 🙂 You are always such an encourager and I appreciate it so much. I’m holding on to that hope…a blink of an eye and we’ll all be together again. Love, Lisa
