Scenario One: Person sitting in chair, eyes glued to a lit screen, reading about depressing news and other people’s lives. No movement, and a mild sense of anxiety pervades.
Scenario Two: Person closes screen, walks, moves body, thinks his/her own thoughts instead of what is being fed through the media, decides to go for a walk and breath and stretch. Anxiety lessens immediately. Plan: write something, anything, get the creative wheels flowing, and then take a walk.
I have made my choice this morning. Closing this laptop as soon as I press “Publish.”
Love and blessings to you all, Lisa
Oh yes!
Lisa, I admire your conscious decision to disconnect from the overwhelming digital world and prioritize your well-being by embracing movement, creativity, and nature.
You are right on. It is not news unless it is depressing. I really feel like moving to the emerald isle and live a more relaxed life. But, my family says, these things on the news will be similar any where you go. Probably true, there is conflict and unhappiness every where.
I just got finished listening to Grace Potter and her “Nothing But The Water.” Her first lines are I have seen the evil that men can do.
So right, but things will get worse.
Good for you!!! Get moving, think positive thoughts, and do creative things…..all excellent tools for changing one’s mindset! Activity clears the head, and positive thoughts and creative ventures make for happy moods! Keep on changing things up and stay busy!
